Abia Warriors U-17 Lose To Heartland

The U-17 team of Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia lost three nill to Heartland Football Club of Owerri at the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League U-17 Youth League played at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The lads from Umuahia failed to approach the game like they did in their last one against neighbours, Enyimba U-17 and their Oriental brothers took full advantage, going into the lead through Nnorom Nmesoma after just two minutes of play.

That goal seemed to unsettle the Warriors as they struggled to get a foot hold on the game throughout the remainder of the encounter.

The Owerri side doubled their lead eight minutes later through Joachim Ohanele, reacting the quickest to tap into an empty net after Warriors’ keeper Eze Austin parried the ball to his part.

After 55 minutes of play, Heartland’s Uche Michael made it 3-0 to cap a miserable day for Abia Warriors U-17 team.

Up next for the Umuahia lads is a game against Rangers Football Club tomorrow –3rd February 2024 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium by 11am.
