Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia has arrived Lafia, Nasarawa State, for the Matchday 7 encounter of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League against hosts, Nasarawa United Football Club of Lafia.
The Umu Chineke having defeated Kwara United by a lone goal last Sunday, has now shifted attention to Wednesday’s showdown with the Solid Miners.
Speaking with the club’s media, captain of Abia Warriors, Augustine Njoku, said that the team is in Lafia to win and not for a jamboree.
“The spirit in the camp is high; I believe we didn’t come here for a jamboree or play, we are here for the maximum points”, Njoku stated.
The Warriors Skipper further stated, “…I believe with everything that we have been throught within the week and everything our coaches have been able to put together to teach us concerning the game of football, I believe if we can put them to work come Wednesday, I believe we are going to come out from that field with the maximum points.”
According to the former national U-20 defender, his optimism stems from the hard fought victory over Kwara United in the Matchday 6 of the Nigeria Premier Football League played at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
“… victory they say begets victory, (and) with the victory last Sunday at home, I believe we are going to put everything together to keep the spirit high and to go all out for the maximum points come this Wednesday.”
