Following a successful 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign, Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia, held a thanksgiving service today, 18th May 2025, to offer their gratitude to God.
The service which was held at the St Stephen’s Presbyterian Church Nigeria, Uduma Parish, Ndi Uduma Awoke, Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, the hometown of the club Chairman, saw in attendance, the Board, Management, Technical Crew, Players and Staff of Abia Warriors Football Club.
It was a joyous moment for Umu Chineke as they danced to songs of praise from the church band.




The high point of the ceremony was the presentation of Umu Chineke to the Church where the Chairman of the club, Coach John Obu, on behalf of the club, expressed his gratitude to God for a successful season. He was joined by the Honorable Commissioner for Tertiary Institutions, Abia State, Professor Uche Eme Uche, who commended the players and officials for the recent achievement, and called for prayers for Abia Warriors as they navigate the Continental waters.
Thereafter, the Moderator of St Stephen’s Presbyterian Church, Reverend Ikenga Eke offered prayers for Abia Warriors to excel in the future encounters.
After the Church service, the Warriors were taken on a brief tour of Ndi Uduma Awoke by the Club Chairman, Coach John Obuh, who later treated them to heavy entertainment at his Ohafia country home.
