The Abia warriors U15 side began its campaign in the on going NPFL/LA-LIGA U15 tournament holding at Enugu. In the game played in the early hours of Thursday morning, unlucky young warriors were forced to a disappointing result as they narrowly lost to Akwa United U15 side as the two teams locked horns in one of the match-day one fixture of the of the tourney.
The coach Emenike Ezeugo tutored side dominated play in the early minutes of the cagey encountered but lacked the cutting edge upfront as the game ended in a stalemate, as the young lads retired to the dressing room for interval break and pep talks.

Reacting to the his wards disappointing defeat, Coach Emenike Ezeugo highlighted some key facts while answering questions from news men after the match.
When asked about his general assessment of his boys in the game, the young vibrant gaffer said..
‘The boys tried and played very well. This is the first match and i cannot judge the boys, from our second match we should hopefully pick it up from there’

“It was just hard luck, it is not easy to create chances . When you create chances and don’t convert them, then luck isn’t there.
“The target is to qualify from the group stage, from there i will think about the next level, Coach Emenike concluded.
